The Design of Allah: The Blueprint of fitrah
In the intricate design of life, everything follows a blueprint- Allah is the One and the only ONE behind this blueprint- I tell you how. Just as proteins are carefully structured to fulfill essential roles in the body, Allah created humans with fitrah—an innate disposition toward truth and trust that forms the backbone of character. This fitrah provides a foundational structure for our function in society, guiding us to act with integrity, compassion, and wisdom. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, embodied this structure perfectly and our role model in terms of building the structure. His life stands as the ultimate model, demonstrating how a well-formed character, rooted in trust and truth, is essential for harmonious societal function. In a world facing a crisis of leadership, his example reminds us that structure must come before function for a society to thrive- regardless of era. Follow me with this.
The Fitrah is in the DNA
The design of Allah is perfection in the strongest term possible. Let us dive little bit into science to understand little bit about this design. In the depths of human cell, a miraculous process unfolds—a process that holds a striking metaphor for human character development. This process is protein production, where the structure of proteins is carefully crafted by Allah before they take on their essential roles in the our body. Just as a protein cannot function without first being properly formed, a person cannot effectively contribute to society without a well-structured foundation of character. Humans can make the choice to bring the Fitrah Allah instilled in us to the surface. Allah has given us the instruction to do so- just like the DNA instruction for the protein production to follow.
The DNA Blueprint Shapes Mankind Internally
Protein production begins with a blueprint—DNA. This genetic code provides precise instructions from Allah for the creation of proteins, the building blocks of life. Through a multi-step process, these instructions are carefully translated, ensuring that each protein is assembled with 100% accuracy, even so called errors, serve function. Only when a protein has achieved its correct structure can it perform its intended function, whether that’s healing wounds, transporting oxygen, or defending the body from threats. Any error in the formation of a protein leads to dysfunction, and sometimes even disease.
This process mirrors the development of human character. Just as a protein’s form precedes its function, a person’s internal structure of trust and truth is essential before they can fulfill their role in society. Structure is not an afterthought; it is a prerequisite for function.
The Foundation of Human Character: Trust and Truth
The backbone of a functioning society is trust and truth. These values are the moral equivalent of a protein’s primary structure—the foundation that everything else depends on. Trust is the connective tissue that binds communities, families, and organizations, while truth is the framework upon which our interactions, relationships, and decisions are built.
This was embodied in the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who was known by his people as As-Sadiq (the Truthful) Al-Amin (the Trustworthy). Even before his prophetic mission, he was renowned for these qualities. His character was a solid structure upon which others could rely, and it became the foundation of his leadership. The integrity and honesty that people experienced through him became the pillars that helped unite and heal a divided society. Just as a well-formed protein performs its specific function, his well-structured character allowed him to carry out his role as a guide and leader effectively. As humans, we have been designed by Allah in such a way that our Fitrah is our structure to help us navigate life. This structure serves as the compass towards fleeing to Allah, our Creator.
Structure Suppressed by GREED
As humans, every single one of us is instilled with Fitrah, we function like one body in society. Just as proteins are crucial for maintaining the health of the body, the integrity of each individual’s character is essential for the well-being of the whole community. If one protein structure is broken, disease spreads and affects the entire body—literally. Similarly, if one person or particularly leader lacks the moral structure of trust and truth, their dysfunction ripples out, causing harm to the wider family, community, or nation.
A man’s responsibility, therefore, is to maintain his structure on all levels—personally, within his family, and as part of his community. This ensures that the ‘body’ of society remains healthy. The failure of one part can spread dysfunction throughout the system, much like a faulty protein leading to disease.
For leaders, this responsibility is even more crucial. Any leader of any institution—whether it’s a family, a business, or a nation—must not have a broken structure. If a leader lacks trust and truth, they are unfit for their role and cannot make sound decisions on behalf of the public. Just as a damaged protein cannot fulfill its function, a leader with compromised integrity will only lead to chaos and disunity in society. Their Fitrah or moral structure is suppressed because of the greed and dishonesty.
The Chaos of Missing Structure: A Leadership Crisis
(Joe Biden)
But what happens when leaders and individuals attempt to bypass the process? Biden has no structure whatsoever yet leads the most important function in the world. When the structure of trust and truth is neglected, the result is dysfunction. Just as a misshapen protein can wreak havoc in the body, individuals who lack these moral structures can cause chaos globally. In today’s world, we see this all too often—leaders who want the power to function without first having the character to lead. They choose corruption on earth, dishonesty over honesty, greed over generosity, and destruction over peace- driven by deception. I lost my respect for Simon Sinek, for sitting with JOE genocide, a conversation with the president, he titles. The fitrah will never allow sit someone with a completely broken structure, it is disgraceful to sit with someone who is a genocide facilitator, and Sinek knows. How can Simon then train people about leadership?
In protein synthesis is a warning, if the instructions are misread or corrupted, the resulting protein will be ineffective, possibly toxic. The same can be said of leadership today. When leaders are driven by ambition without first grounding themselves in the structure of trust and truth, their actions, no matter how grand, ultimately harm the mass.
This is why societies built on shaky foundations—where truth is compromised and trust is eroded—are prone to chaos. Leaders who lack the internal moral structure cannot perform their functions effectively. Their decisions, actions, and policies may look like leadership on the surface, but they lack the core integrity necessary to foster harmony and progress. It’s like expecting a broken protein to support life.
Structure Before Function
In the end, the lessons taught by Allah from protein synthesis extend far beyond biology. They remind us that just as no protein can fulfill its purpose without first being carefully structured, no person can contribute meaningfully to society without a foundation of trust and truth. Our leaders, like our proteins, must be formed with integrity before they can function effectively.
Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ titles As-Sadiq Al-Amin are timeless reminders that trust and truth are not mere virtues but the very structures upon which meaningful leadership and societal harmony are built. As we look around at the societal chaos caused by those who want to lead without first building the backbone of trust and truth, the message is clear: structure must come before function. Only then can we hope to heal the fractures in our society and move toward a future built on harmony and understanding.
If one part of society is broken, the disease affects us all. Maintaining integrity at every level—individual, family, community, and nation—is the key to ensuring that the body of society functions harmoniously. Leaders especially must be whole, for a leader with a broken structure is like a defective protein—incapable of fulfilling the role for which they were created. We must fix ourselves first to fix our leaders.
